The Primary Election is Tuesday, August 4, 2020 from 7am - 8pm ET.
Monica Ross-Williams is a resident of Ypsilanti Township since 2000, Current Ypsilanti Township Trustee since 2016, former Ypsilanti Township Parks Commissioner from 2011-2016, lifelong Ypsilanti Area Resident, Business Owner and Community Activist.
Since November 20, 2016, Monica has dutifully served the 57,000 residents of Ypsilanti Township as one of four Ypsilanti Township Trustees taking an active role to move the community forward.
As Ypsilanti Township Treasurer, Monica promises to continue Ypsilanti Township 's sound financial stewardship by:
*Ensuring sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and investment requirements.
*Maintaining uniform chart of accounts, Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP).
*Oversee proper internal control to manage general property tax administration process, including collection and distribution of tax revenues
*Implement sound cash management procedures and proper handling of funds, including knowledge of investment instruments and legal limitations on investments.

Graduating from former Ypsilanti High School in the former Ypsilanti Public Schools District, Monica continued her educational pursuits earning an Associates Degree in Applied Science (A.A.S.) - Criminal Justice/Correctional Science from Washtenaw Community College.
In 2004, she received a Bachelors of Business Administration (B.B.A.) - Business Management from Cleary University.
Monica returned to her Alma Mater to complete an Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Organizational Leadership in 2013, and currently sits as Treasurer of the Cleary University Alumni Association serving over 15,000 Alum.
Monica has worked in the Educational and Recreational Software industry since 2015, as a Senior Account Executive, and has owned ROJS Media, LLC since 2008.
Prior to starting ROJS Media, LLC, she was the owner of ServiceMaster Building Services of Wayne County from 2007-2010. Monica started the business after being chosen from rigorous competition for the prestigious Shane Battier (NBA Professional Basketball Player) ServiceMaster Business Scholarship Award worth $25,000.
In addition to her business ventures, Monica previously served Adjunct Instructor of Business Education at Washtenaw Community College.
Personally, Monica's hobbies include cultivating her two adult children, one Grandchild, taking care of her great husband, family Chow-Chow Princess and reading a variety of news resources.
